DO'B/JB/ EH: Treatment

Beginning
A woman is travelling through a harshly lit supermarket, aisles deserted as she browses the shelves and puts various items in the trolley. She picks up a cereal box on the front reading the title of the film, as she turns it over she begins to read the creditable cast and crew in the place of nutritional information. The perspective from inside the trolley shows the course she is taking. The audience sees the characters face, seemingly oblivious to what is going on around them as they leave the store. As she leaves the store, the woman feels particularly uneasy.

Middle
Minor jump scares startle her, yet these turn out to be of no relevance (people starting their cars, shouting at friends etc). As she becomes increasingly cautious of her surroundings, she changes song on her iPod/iPhone to one with a more ominous nature. We hear the sound from her headphones, which then mixes in to become the main backing sound for the rest of the opening. The street she arrives in is dimly lit and gives an ominous tone. As she walk down an empty stairwell leading into a gloomy tunnel she is oblivious of any .

End
The woman, carrying her heavy bags of shopping, is walking through the eerily lit tunnel on her journey home, the passageway being filled by the hollow echoes of her shoes as she walks alone. However alone she is not, and a shadowy figure can be seen in the distance, with a pale ghostly face being barely distinguishable from the dark surroundings. The woman then slowly makes her way down the tunnel, glancing nervously back at several points after being already in an anxiously scared mood.
The shopper can then be seen to be walking up to her door, and is fumbling to open it due to her hands shaking with fear, and eventually manages to get the loud clanking keys into the lock and open the door. However, when stepping inside and closing the door, she sees the ominous figure, and quickly slams the door, the loud noise being heard as the opening ends.

  1. This is good work boys and is suitable for a treatment in terms of creating atmosphere and setting the scene. You now need to ensure you have a shot by shot planned in time for the pitch. level 4

  2. Also as soon as you mentioned supermarket, I thought of this clip. probably not the right tone at all but could be useful in terms of camera shots.
